Issuing Fire Orders


The OFC has updated and revised the process regarding fire orders and appeals.

The OFC launched the new program in May, 2006 at the FPOABC education seminars in Nanaimo. As part of the rollout of the new process, OFC will conduct training workshops in the different zones, starting with Zones 1 and 2, and then Zones 3, 4, and 5.

We are looking for opportunities to streamline and track appeals when they are submitted to the OFC. LAFC should notice a difference in the turnaround time as this revised process gets underway.

This update and revision are part of our transitional initiatives until the Fire Services Act is updated.
