Instructions to LAFC Regarding New Procedures for Fire Orders
Prior to issuing a fire order as an LAFC, you should read the following Operational Guideline for Issuing Orders:
The old triplicate form for the provincial fire orders has been replaced by an electronic word template. You can download this template and customize it for your own use.
Prior to serving a fire order, you need to e-mail this back to OFC to obtain a tracking number. You can e-mail OFC via: ofc@gov.bc.ca. If you need to serve the order immediately, you can backtrack this number as outlined in the OG.
You should have 3 items for the owner receiving the fire order:
depending on the type of order, one of the following:
If you require assistance in filling out the order, or would like to discuss the specifics of your order, please contact your regional fire service advisor directly. If you cannot reach your regional fire service advisor, you can contact HQ at 1-888-988-9488 and we will make sure someone is available to assist you.
In order to maintain the impartiality of an appeal, you should let the fire service advisors know prior to their assistance if there is a high chance of an appeal. OFC may provide the assistance differently in these cases.
